Week of April 14, 2019
What’s Happening: Taxes are done! (Right? Is anyone still crunching that deadline?) So it’s time to recover and destress with a massage or spa day! Book your next massage and add a foot scrub for only $25 and just relaaaaaaax.
Fun Holidays this Week:
April 16 National Stress Awareness Day – It’s real people. Take some time to acknowledge the stress in your life and create a plan to stay ahead of the curve. (hint, hint…that might include a massage)
April 19 National Garlic Day – While it might make your breath smell bad, it makes food taste delicious.
April 20 Volunteer Recognition Day – Thank a volunteer today.
April 21 Husband Appreciation Day – If you have an amazing husband, let him know today.
Hydration Recipe
Keeping hydrated is an important part of staying healthy. Water promotes cardiovascular health, keeps your body cool, helps muscles and joints work better and keeps skin supple. Here is this week’s hydration recipe:
Blackberry Sage Water
Ingredients:
Handful of blackberries, muddled
1 sprig sage, crushed
Water
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher of water.
Refrigerate until chilled – about 1 hour.
(Editors note: a few drops of stevia or a little simple syrup would make this into slightly sweeter treat, perfect on it’s own or as a mixer for a springy cocktail this weekend!)
DIY Scalp Massage
Scalp massage is something you can do anywhere, anytime, to relax and feel refreshed. Just follow the instructions below:
Place the heel of your palms under your hair on either side of your head near your temples.
Push the scalp up toward the ceiling, hold a few seconds, and release.
Work in sections across your entire scalp.
There... now don't you feel better already!
Remember: Massage + Foot Scrub = HEAVEN. Try our Body and Soul Scrub paired with Almond Coconut Body Butter for a rich, emollient treat, redolent in vanilla, bitter almond, patchouli and brown sugar. It reminds us of amaretto in the best way!
